I was thinking about how most fake lobsters (whether it’s a drawing, plushie, statue, etc) are colored/painted to be bright red even though the only bright red lobster is a cooked lobster. I guess it’s the same as fake alligators and crocodiles being colored green even though the real thing is actually grey with a very slight tinge of green.
Lobsters come in a lot of colors and live ones can be sort of reddish, but the fire engine red really seems to only be with cooked ones. Feel free to let me know if I’m wrong, but take a look:
