Monthly Archives: June 2012

30 Days of Creativity — Day thirty.

30 Days of Creativity: The goal is to create something, anything, for every day of June.

Last day! Today I made a hollow book.

So that does it for the 2012 30DoC. I’m amazed and proud of myself for sticking with this project throughout the whole month. I had a lot of fun with some of these crafts, although making something every single day got pretty hectic a few times. I plan on making sure I stay creative, though I’ll stick to maybe one project a week so I don’t burn myself out.

If you’d like to see all my 30DoC crafts, you can click this link to see them here on my blog or click this link to see them all on one page at my Pinterest. If you’d like to see crafts by other people who took part in this project, you can see a lot of them at the 30DoC Pinterest.

Today I made a stamp out of a tiny cork from a bottle, and used it in my Wreck This Journal to make a scale pattern. The gaps in the scales are because I accidentally split the cork while carving it, it was really crumbly and the X-acto knife kept snagging more than I was trying to cut.

Today I made a bag out of a t-shirt. I used this tutorial. You can find the shirt at Sick On Sin.

Edit: In case anyone’s interested, this particular t-shirt bag is strong enough to carry at least 10 lbs.

Today I made a jar full of dyed rice. You can find the tutorial here. I used sushi rice which is shorter than normal white rice, I suggest doing the same if you want to fill a small jar with it.

Today I made a cover for a mini memo book. It’s 4½” x 3¼”. You can find the tutorial here.

Today I made a mousepad out of a t-shirt from Sick On Sin, a piece of non-slip shelf liner, and Mod Podge. You can find the tutorial here. One step she doesn’t mention which I absolutely recommend is using a spray fixative over the dry Mod Podge so the mousepad isn’t tacky/sticky.
