Costco recently had a demo on a SodaStream machine, something I’ve been eyeballing for a long time but hadn’t purchased because I wasn’t sure if it’d taste any good. Thanks to Costco, I was able to see how it works and taste what it does to the water. The lady let me try the cola flavor as well as some unflavored sparkling water (seltzer? tonic?) to taste the difference. Now I own a machine, and today I set it up. Mine didn’t come with an instruction manual but everything’s pretty self explanatory in terms of putting it together, and thanks to the demo, I knew how to work the machine. I’m not sure if it’s worth contacting the company to ask for a manual, I’ve been reading the FAQ on the site and that seems to be telling me everything I’d need to know.
All I have to say is yum! If you drink sparkling water or spend a lot of money on soda, you should really consider one of these machines.
I do recommend using some non-skid padding under the machine. The CO2 canister is a little heavy but not enough of a weight to keep the lightweight machine from moving around, so you’ll want to put something underneath to keep it in place.
